We’re excited to announce that we have set up a new Red Squirrel workshop for you. It is based in beautiful Cumbria, near Appleby Westmorland.

Using a small, static caravan as a hide, we will be working at a close distance to these adorable subjects. The ideal focal length is between 300-500mm (using a full-frame body). We have also set up some bird feeders next to the perch so that you can enjoy photographing attractive woodland species such as the Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch and Wren etc. while waiting for the squirrels.

There will be tea or coffee available throughout the day and a small packed lunch will also be provided. As we are set on a private farm, the usual facilities are only yards away.

These two sessions will be led by either Des Ong or Andrew Robinson, who has been working with Red Squirrels for many years and is himself an accomplished photographer.
