Madagascar Endemic Wildlife

Covering five reserves in fourteen days — one of the most comprehensive photo tours of its kind. From the diminutive Mouse Lemur to the largest of them all, the Indri; from the Giraffe-necked Weevil to the Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko.

The tour

Madagascar · 14 days

This is a dedicated photographic tour designed to cover some of the key wildlife locations in Madagascar — from the humid rainforests of the east to the dry, arid spiny bush-land of the south.

Madagascar is home to 103 species of lemur, more than 300 species of bird, 260 species of reptile and over 300 species of frog. Approximately 80 percent of all plant and animal species found here are endemic. The island is a biodiversity hotspot and a nature photographer's paradise, rivalling the Galápagos.

We travel in a small group of up to six participants. A really small group not only enables easier access to work on a particular subject, but also allows everyone to receive individual support.

Visiting five reserves over fourteen days, we believe this is one of the most comprehensive photo tours of its kind. We work with the diminutive Mouse Lemur to the largest of them all, the Indri; the weird Giraffe-necked Weevil to the master of camouflage, the Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko, plus much more of the fauna and flora that inhabit this incredible place.

Key features of our tour

  • An experienced naturalist, official guides — sometimes with an additional tracker — for the best chances of seeing and learning about the island's diverse wildlife and plants.
  • Streamlined travel routes that let us cover much larger areas than usual, visiting a greater number of important reserves.
  • Accommodation chosen for comfort and strategic location — never wasting two hours travelling in and out of the capital.
  • A truly small group — a maximum of six participants — so each guest enjoys more space, time and technical support, without the jostling of a larger group.
  • A dedicated photographic focus: we spend the time necessary for you to get the shots, with a professional on hand to give as much or as little assistance as you prefer.
